Interactive Art

Art becomes even more meaningful when people can engage with it. This collection showcases projects that invite interaction through movement, technology, game play, or hands-on experiences. By combining creativity with user engagement, I explore new ways to transform viewers from observers into active participants.

Project Nova

Zine and Art Doll

When my Grandpa and my Mom passed away, I became extremely depressed for three years. However, I have been slowly trying to overcome my depression and become a new and better version of myself. I wanted to tell my story by using the symbolism of the life cycle of a dying star. When a star dies, the leftover particles are used to make a completely new star, So in regards to my zine, you pull out the “Star” which is the heart of my creature, crack it open to reveal what's inside, and add onto the paper inside the star to represent the growth of how much I have learned and how far I have come.

Rebirth

Glow in the Dark Multi-Media Art

When my mom and Grandpa first passed I began working on an art-piece where there was a wolf fighting off two dragons to represent my struggles going on in my mind. The Wolf represented my inner “light” While the two dragons represented the all consuming grief I had with their deaths. That piece was titled “Battle in the Mindscape”. In College is when I learned I was depressed and also the time I began to work on overcoming my depression. Because of that I wanted to recreate that art piece but instead of the wolf fighting two dragons, the wolf is grinning triumphantly because she destroyed her demons and is now frolicking among the flowers that were grown from their corpses. Triumphant in her long battle.

The Predator and The Prey

Multi-Media art and Stop Motion Animation

I often feel as if I am underestimated by my piers or my piers try to use my talents only to their advantage. Although I am short, I still have my baby cheeks, and the way I dress is most of the time very silly or cutesy, there is more to me than meets the eyes. To be honest, I love being underestimated because the look on peoples faces when I go above and beyond expectations is glorious. With that in mind, I wanted to portray that in my stop motion animation and in the art piece that was a result of the animation.

Jaws

Wooden Sculpture

Untitled design(48).png

For this project, my professor only allowed us to get a 2 by 4 plank of wood and we had only a certain number of times we could cut that wood to make the sculpture. The Sculpture had to represent a feeling without it being obvious, and I wanted try and represent the feeling of being lured in and trapped. The idea behind my sculpture is to have a person come up and spin it around and admire it, but the closer you look, it isn't as it seems. The beads hanging in the center are actually 3D printed animal skulls and by looking at the mobile in the center it forces you to bend down into the Jaws.
